The Lodge

The Bridge to Nowhere Lodge is a unique place. Located deep in the Whanganui National Park wilderness region, we are the only Whanganui River accommodation of this kind in the area.

Perched high above the river and surrounded by native bush the only access is by the lodge's jet boat service, canoe, by foot or helicopter.

The Lodge offers comfortable double/twin share accommodation along with family bunk rooms. For groups we have the capacity to accommodate 25 people:

4 x double rooms with single bed

1 x twin room

1 x single room

2 x bunkrooms (sleeping up to 5 in one room and 6 in other)

Rooms have magnificent bush and river views with French doors opening onto the balcony.

Either cater for yourself in our kitchen or sit back and relax and enjoy a generous buffet dinner and breakfast in the morning. Our licensed bar offers a selection of New Zealand wines and beers to compliment your meal. Enjoy your meals in the dining room or on the balcony overlooking the river.

There are many things to do whilst staying with us:

Explore our property and enjoy bush and farm walks.

Take a tour to the Bridge to Nowhere or try a jet/canoe trip option

to explore the river.

In the evenings take a stroll and discover our glow worms.

Listen for the distinctive call of the endangered native kiwi.

Gaze at the clear skies and spot the Southern Cross, the Milky Way, satellites and the billions of stars.

After spending a night or two with us return to Pipiriki on the jet boat or canoe.

Lodge Self Catering

Bunk or family room accommodation, (doubles as available) use of all the Lodges facilities: fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room, showers. You bring your own sleeping bag and food.

Ideal for canoeists or trampers who would like a well deserved hot shower and a comfortable bed.
