Canoeing the Whanganui River

Combine the Bridge to Nowhere jet boat tour with Canoeing on the Whanganui River and a stay at the Bridge to Nowhere Lodge or Campground.  The scenery is fantastic and the paddling is classed as easy.

STAY AND PLAY PACKAGES

Two Days - One Night

Starting from Pipiriki jet boat 30 km up the Whanganui River. Enjoy a peaceful 40 minute walk through the native bush arriving at the world famous Bridge to Nowhere. Bring your own picnic lunch - we'll supply the tea and coffee.  After lunch, lie back and listen to the sounds of the bush, the birds, and see nature at its finest.  Your guide will share stories of the river and of years gone by.  Return to the river and board your canoe for an 1 hour and half (approx) journey to the Bridge to Nowhere Lodge and Camp-ground.

Spend the night at the lodge and enjoy a buffet meal, cosy bed and bush breakfast the next day.  Return to Pipiriki in your canoe, a 4 hour journey.

We provide

Dinner, accommodation (Queen or Twin share room), breakfast, Bridge to Nowhere tour, canoeing day one and day two.

You will need to bring

Overnight bag and clothes

Stay and Play - BACKPACKER

This option has exactly the same activities as above,  the difference is the accommodation in this package is in our bunk rooms and you'll have to bring and cook your own  food, AND we'll still make sure you are looked after just as well as any of the others staying at the lodge

We provide

Twin share or bunkroom accommodation, the use of all the Lodges facilities including a fully equipped kitchen, the  Bridge to Nowhere jet boat tour, canoeing day one and day two.

You will need to bring

Your own food and sleeping bag (bedding) and towel.

Stay and Play - BACK TO NATURE

The activities are exactly the same as above, the difference is the accommodation in this package is at our campground

on the banks of the Whanganui RIver. You will sleep in one of our newly built cabins with luxurious new mattresses.

We Provide

You will have the use of all the campgrounds facilities including hot showers, BBQ, out door kitchen with gas hobs.

You will need to bring

Your own sleeping bag (bedding) food and camping gear (pots, plates, cups cutlery etc) If you don't have this we have limited  gear available to rent..

Stay and Play - THE GREAT OUTDOORS

The activities are exactly the same as above,  the difference is the accommodation in this package is at our campground on the banks of the Whanganui River.

We Provide

You will have the use of all the campgrounds facilities including hot showers, BBQ, out door kitchen with gas hobs.

You will need to bring

Your own tent to sleep in along with  your sleeping bag (bedding) food and camping gear (pots, plates, cups cutlery etc) If you don't have this we have limited rental gear available.

Tea, coffee, milo (hot chocolate), and biscuits which we have at the bridge.
